GSM = what practically all cell phone carriers world wide use. You can take an unlocked cell phone and put it on any carrier as long as that carrier uses the same technology (GSM vs CDMA). A SIP compatible phone is just like an unlocked cell phone. It can be used on any any carrier which supports SIP (all of them).

The Tenfold Softphone is a an example of a SIP compatible phone.

Call notes, tasks, and @mentions are logged when you save a note using the call popup. Everything else is logged automatically with no user intervention! Call Duration, Direction (inbound vs. outbound), and Username of the person making or receiving the call are logged by relating that call record to the appropriate contact, lead or account in your CRM. Depending on your integration path / phone system we may also log the following: Inbound Extension (for example the queue or phone number it came in on), the User Extension (the extension of the user that answered the call), the user device (if the call is answered on softphone vs. a desk phone), and a call recording url.
